Bathstore


‘Showing Off’ does exactly that – real water interacts with beautifully shot and lovingly lit porcelain, to showcase some of Bathstore’s best products.

Shot on the Phantom camera and graded onboard in Smoke, the ad is crisp, refreshing and luxuriant.

VFX Artist Paul Wratten was required to build several of the more graphical shots. The opening shot, for example, was filmed using half a sink edged with perspex. The image was then stretched and reflected in Post. A real droplet was used with a ripple spark to finish the kaleidoscopic end result. Because lots of light was used during the high-speed filming, Paul also had to re-build the cabinets shot – adding lights & mirrors – along with animating the shower taps, tidying-up water, and adding brass texture to the tap close-up.
